Why Parti Yorkie Puppies Make The Best Pets

If you’re like most dog lovers, you’re always on the lookout for the perfect pup. And if you’re looking for a breed that’s both playful and loving, there’s no better choice than a Parti Yorkie.

These lovable pups are a blend of Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Poodle genes, which guarantees a loving and loyal family companion.

So why should you consider a Parti Yorkie puppy? Here’s why…

What Are Parti Yorkie Puppies

The history of the Parti Yorkie is not well documented. They were described as tri-colored Yorkshire Terriers in the 1800s.

Some historians think that the Maltese might have been used in the creation of the Yorkie.

A litter would often include tri-colored Yorkies, and occasionally the rare white Yorkies. They were considered undesirable and were not further bred.

Parti Yorkies were given away or put to sleep due to their color. Although this is now considered inhumane, it was still common well into the 20th century.

The American Kennel Club (AKC), officially recognized the Parti Yorkie in 2000. According to the breed standard, Parti Yorkies can be described as tri-color. They have black, white, and tan fur.

The Parti Gene, despite its many colors, is part of purebred Yorkies. Parti Yorkies can often be found in the litter of purebred Yorkshire Terriers.

The Parti Gene, which is a recessive gene, is responsible for the Parti color. Parti Yorkie puppies must be born to parents who are carriers of the Parti gene.

Parti Yorkies are basically the same as traditional Yorkies. Their coloration is the only difference.

The Parti Yorkie, which weighs 7 pounds, is famous for its gorgeous tri-colored hair, which is a mix of white, tan, and brown.

The Yorkie’s body is well proportioned. Its silky, flowing coat runs from the head to the tail and is elegantly spotted with symmetrical dark marks on its back, legs, and head.

The structure and position of the ears are a major factor in the Parti Yorkie’s tendency to bark frequently. They are tall and prominent, allowing them to hear clearly.

They can pick up the smallest disturbances that average dogs may not notice and then assert their dominance by barking.

Temperament And Behavior Of Parti Yorkie Puppies

Yorkies are intelligent, curious, and playful dogs so they’ll keep you entertained all day long with their antics. And because they’re so small, Parti Yorkies make perfect pets for families with children as well as first-time pet owners.

Parti Yorkies are affectionate and friendly to everyone they come into contact with whether it’s a stranger on the street or their owner’s friends.

They’re also very good with other pets such as cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

Parti Yorkie pups are known for being sweet and affectionate and enjoy nothing more than curling up in their owners’ laps and getting a good belly rub after a day of playing in the yard or going on a walk through the park.

It’s this combination of playfulness and friendliness that makes the Parti Yorkie such a good choice for families with children.

Parti Yorkies are both obedient and demanding which makes them easy to train in comparison to most breeds. With training, Parti Yorkie pups can be taught everything from “sit” and “stay” to “heel” relatively quickly and easily.

Parti Yorkies are not especially active dogs and can live happily in an apartment. They’re small, so they won’t need a large space to run around.

Despite their small size, they’re not afraid of strangers or larger dogs so they can live in a household or neighborhood with other pets.

Parti Yorkies are known for being very loyal to their owners and enjoy spending time with their owners. If you plan on getting a Yorkie pup as your new pet, you’ll need to schedule some quality alone time every day because they love giving and receiving affection.

Different Coat Colors Of Parti Yorkies

Parti Yorkies can come in various colors, but the most common parti-color is tri-color.

Tri-color Parti Yorkie

The coat has black, white, and tan fur. It is the most common color of the Parti Yorkies, and it is also the color that has been accepted by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

The Blonde or Golden Parti Yorkie

The Blonde or Golden Parti Yorkie looks exactly the same as it sounds. They look just like a Yorkshire Terrier but have no blue or dark coloring. The Blonde or Golden Parti Yorkie can also come in tri-color.

Golden Yorkies, as puppies, are either gold with solid gold or gold with white marks. Adulthood brings them a range of colors, from light blonde to deep and rich gold.

Chocolate Parti Yorkies

They look exactly like a Yorkshire Terrier but are entirely brown. Chocolate Yorkies are a rare find, but they do exist.

White Parti Yorkie

They’re often referred to as snow-white. It’s also known for being the rarest of all the colors because it’s so difficult to produce a pure white Yorkshire Terrier.

The Fawn Parti Yorkie

The Fawn Parti Yorkie is a little bit harder to find because it originates from Great Britain and there are only a few breeders of this color. The Fawn’s coloring varies as it gets older, but it generally starts out blonde and then turns a deep golden color.

Other Parti Yorkie colors include black and tan, red and white, chocolate and white, and blue merle (black with silver).

How Big Are Parti Yorkies?

Parti Yorkies are generally around 7 to 9 inches tall and weigh between 4 and 10 pounds, with females being slightly smaller. They are among the smallest of all the dog breeds.

Small dogs like Yorkies are perfect for people living in apartments, dorm rooms, and small homes.

To determine if a Yorkie will be small or larger when it grows up, the first thing you should look for is the parent’s size. The second thing you can do is look at its bone structure. A dog with a wide and deep chest is more likely to be a larger dog.

Parti Yorkies with long and slender legs are more likely to be on the smaller side.

In terms of size, the Parti Yorkie is in between the Yorkshire Terrier and the Toy Poodle. They are similar in size to the Brussels Griffon, but they are much more manageable than this breed.

Lifespan Of Parti Yorkies

Parti Yorkie pups can live anywhere from 13 to 15 years if they’re well cared for, which means they’ll be your lifelong friend.

If you want an intelligent and affectionate dog, consider getting a Parti Yorkie because they’re always ready to please their owners.

Parti Yorkies are also recognized by major U.S. kennel clubs such as the American Kennel Club (AKC), the United Kennel Club, and the Canadian Kennel Club.

What Are The Advantages Of Owning A Parti Yorkie?

Parti Yorkies come with a wide range of advantages that will make you fall in love with them:

  • They’re one of the smallest dog breeds.
  • They have an average lifespan of 13 to 15 years.
  • They are easy to train and willing to please their owners.
  • They are super affectionate, loyal, and loving.
  • They require very minimal grooming which makes them great for people with allergies or busy schedules.
  • Since they’re so small, you can take a Parti Yorkie almost anywhere.
  • They’ll teach your children how to be responsible and they will become the perfect family dog.
  • They’re great with other pets, so you can bring them around cats, birds, and even small dogs.
  • This is a small breed of dog with a big personality! They have been known to keep up with the most active of families, even with little exercise.

Are Parti Yorkie Puppies Rare?

Parti Yorkie puppies, although rare, are becoming more and more common. However, they’re not as easy to find as other breeds like Yorkies or Golden Retrievers.

With that being said, you can get a Parti Yorkie from any breeder who specializes in this breed.

The only real difference is the price. Some Parti Yorkies are significantly more  expensive than others because of their bloodlines and they come from high-quality breeders with generations of perfect breeding records.

Yorkies are known to produce litters of approximately 4 puppies, but it is not common for them to be Parti-colored unless their genetics have been carefully chosen.

It is important to remember that Parti Yorkies can only be produced if the Parti Gene is present in both parents.

How Much Are Parti Yorkie Puppies Worth?

Parti Yorkie puppies can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $4,000 depending on the breeder, location and the bloodline.

Although this breed has different colors, it is still a purebred. Purebred dog breeds are always more expensive than mixed breeds. Yorkshire Terriers are extremely sought-after and their prices reflect that.

You can also expect to pay more for the lineage depending on its parents, AKC registration, and breeder’s reputation.

If you want to make sure you get the best Parti Yorkie for your money, find a good breeder who can show you health clearances for both its parents and provide plenty of information about how they’ve interacted with their dogs in the past.

12 Tips For Taking Care Of Parti Yorkie Puppies

As with any dog, you should always be prepared to take care of your Parti Yorkie.

yorkie and toothbrush

Many people feel that they cannot provide adequate care for a puppy because they don’t have enough time or money, but it’s all about being willing to put in the effort.

Here are my 12 top tips for taking proper care of your Parti Yorkie puppy:

1) Grooming

Parti Yorkies are small and relatively easy to take care of. They don’t need to be groomed as often as other dog breeds, but they should be brushed at least once a week to keep their coats healthy and free of dirt.

They do shed, but it shouldn’t overwhelm your home or cause you too much trouble if you brush them regularly.

2) Ears

You also want to check their ears once a week for dirt, debris, or signs of infection.

If their ears are dirty or if they have excessive wax in them, you will want to take them to the vet so they can get cleaned out properly.

3) Nails

Parti Yorkies should have their nails clipped regularly. When dogs start to grow older it becomes more difficult to let them run around and have their feet naturally wear down the sharp edges, so you should start clipping their nails when they’re young.

If a dog doesn’t get enough activity in a day, it can cause them pain when they walk because their nails are hitting the ground wrong.

4) Teeth

It is important to brush your Parti Yorkie’s teeth every week.

Dogs like to eat and this can lead to them getting cavities and other dental problems if they’re not taken care of properly.

When you go over their teeth with a toothbrush, make sure that you do it gently because their mouths are very sensitive. You can also buy toothpaste for dogs to make the process even easier.

5) Food

You will want to feed your Parti Yorkie a high-quality dog food that is specialized for small breeds.

It may be tempting to give them treats or other types of food, but you should avoid these because they could upset their stomachs and lead to health problems.

6) Playtime

Parti Yorkies puppies should be given at least an hour of play every day. It is important that you don’t over-exercise them because they are very small and still growing.

Many people like to take their dogs for walks or other short trips around the neighborhood, but your Parti Yorkie would benefit from staying inside for some of the day.

7) Safety

You will want to keep your Parti Yorkie indoors or in an enclosed yard because it is very easy for them to get lost, stolen, or injured by cars. When walking outside, you should supervise them so they don’t try to run away and get hurt.

Remember, they are just a puppy so they don’t have a lot of sense yet.

8) Toys

You should also consider buying or making your own toys for your Parti Yorkie.

They can be very creative and enjoy playing with things they find around the house, but you can also buy squeak toys or even make tiny chew toys out of old items.

However you decide to do it, having plenty of toys for them will prevent boredom.

9) Pet Insurance

Parti Yorkies are very small and it’s possible that they might get injured if they don’t have the proper medical care.

Pet insurance will cover accidents or injuries that might otherwise be very expensive for you. If you do take the time to get insurance, it is better to look into getting a pet plan instead of just buying general coverage.

10) Training

It is important for your Parti Yorkie puppy to learn everything early on so they don’t become a problem when they get older.

You want to make sure they know how to walk on a leash, not bite or attack people, and stay in the yard without leaving. It might seem very hard at first but it gets easier with practice.

Also, you should train them to sleep in their own bed or in a crate so they don’t get used to sleeping with you.

11) Children

Parti Yorkies are very sensitive, so they should be introduced to your children when they’re puppies.

kids sitting with a yorkie

Adult dogs can get annoyed if children pull on them or bother them too much, but a puppy will eventually get used to it over time.

If you do have kids, make sure that everyone in the family is responsible enough to take care of the dog or that you have a good sitter on call just in case. In most cases, mixing your Parti Yorkie puppy with your children will be a very positive experience due to their temperament.

12) Exercise

It is extremely important that they get out of the house and meet other people or animals so they can socialize properly.

Parti Yorkies are the best breed of dog because they like to play and make friends, which is what you want in a pet. You should take your puppy for walks every day or allow them to run free when it’s safe for them to do so.

Just remember that since they’re small and still growing, not too much activity is needed.

People Also Ask

Are Parti Yorkies Good Dogs?

Parti Yorkies are the best dogs because they’re very friendly, love attention, and like to play with people.

If you bring them up properly, it is almost impossible for them to become aggressive or cause problems around the house. They are small and don’t require a lot of food while having a very pleasant demeanor.

Do Parti Yorkies Have Health Problems?

Parti Yorkies are generally healthy but can suffer from genetic health problems just like any other breed. After they’re fully grown, their biggest challenges might be arthritis and heart disease when they get old. If you take them to the vet when it’s needed, these issues shouldn’t become problematic for your pup.

Are Parti Yorkies Good Family Pets?

Parti Yorkies are the best dogs to have around children because they get used to their behavior early on. They have a pleasant temperament and are easy to control, which means that they’re probably the best breed you can buy for your kids. If you bring them up properly, everyone will get along just fine.

What Will The Puppies Of A Parti Yorkie And Traditional Yorkie Look Like?

If the parents are both purebreds, then the puppies will look just like either one of them. However, if you breed a Parti Yorkie to another dog that isn’t a purebred, then you have to consider how their genes will mix. The smaller the father is, the smaller your puppy might be since they’ll take on a lot of his traits.

Conclusion

Parti Yorkies are the best breed of dog because they’re very friendly, don’t need a lot of exercise to stay healthy, and are perfect if you have children.

They will quickly become your favorite pet because they’ll be loyal to you while being quite affectionate.

They’re full of life and love, making them perfect to bring around people or other animals.

Like any dog, they do require training as pups, but if you pay attention to them, they’ll be very easy to manage and bring up.

If you want a low-maintenance pet that’s worth every dollar, then get yourself a Parti Yorkie. You won’t regret it!
