Heart To Tail Dog Food Review – 3 Facts You Need To Know

Aldi Supermarket has created Heart to Tail, a brand of dog food. Their dog food is formulated to give your dog all the nutrition and flavor they need and want.

Let’s learn more. Here are 3 facts to know:

#1 – Heart To Tail is an exclusive brand of pet food that only Aldi sells. Aldi, originally from Europe has seen a surge in popularity over the past decade in America and is now a staple for many people’s weekly grocery shopping.

#2 – The Heart To Tail wet dog food is healthier than dry food. Many dogs love the taste of dry dog food but it is not as good for them as wet or moist food, which contains more protein and nutrients that your pet needs to stay healthy.

#3 – The Heart To Tail kibble isn’t grain-free. Some pet owners are choosing to avoid grains in their dog food, but grains like barley and oats are healthy for your pup. These grains help with digestion and help control weight gain.

Heart To Tail Dog Food – Benefits

It’s a popular brand for a reason. Here are some benefits you’ll find when feeding your dog Heart To Tail:

Affordable Dog Food Brand

Heart To Tail is affordable which helps most pet owners with their budgets. It is great for keeping your dog healthy and doesn’t break the bank.

Depending on what your dog can tolerate, you can purchase a small bag to try it out and then move on to the bigger bags if needed.

Offers A Significant Amount Of Nutrition And Protein

Heart to Tail is made with high-quality ingredients that are safe and healthy for your pet. They come from trusted sources and don’t contain any of the harmful additives or preservatives that some other brands do.

With natural ingredients like beef, chicken, and vegetables, you want to feel confident giving this food to your pet daily.

It contains 21% of crude protein which is great for your pup.

This is important because it will keep them excited for each meal and increase their appetite so they can stay healthy and strong.

Good Flavor That Dogs Love

Pets enjoy the taste of Heart to Tail as they are made with natural ingredients and contain no artificial flavors.

Your dog will be excited to eat every meal and you won’t have to worry about them turning their nose up at it or refusing to eat. The right amount of flavor and moisture will keep their taste buds happy and help them get the nutrition they need.

Offers Added Vitamins And Minerals

The blend of beef, chicken, and vegetables in Heart to Tail is a nutritious combination that provides your pet with the essential vitamins and minerals they need.

These additional nutrients are important because your pup’s diet can easily lack them if you aren’t careful about what you feed them. Vitamin deficiency can cause physical problems for your dog.

Essential vitamins and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and Vitamin A are required for your pup to live a long healthy life. It can help your dog avoid health problems later in life such as cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, and blindness.

Heart To Tail Dog Food – Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Good nutritional value
  • Affordable
  • Protein content
  • Contains vitamins and minerals

Cons

  • Contains grains
  • Protein comes from by-products
  • Doesn’t contain as many whole foods as pedigree dog foods

Heart To Tail Dog Food – Ingredients

The ingredients of Heart To Tail are what make it unique and nutritious for your dog. Some of these include:

  • Chicken
  • Beef
  • Turkey
  • Salmon
  • Tuna

Heart To Tail only uses moderate amounts of meats and fish in its recipes. Most of these ingredients can be found in their canned or wet versions.

A positive sign is the presence of any one of the listed ingredients. These are high-quality ingredients that can be trusted to provide animal-based protein or fat.

Pet food manufacturers use all of these ingredients because they have high-quality, low-cost nutrition and are easy to source.

Heart To Tail Dog Food – Recalls

From our research (FDA/AVMA, DogFoodAdvisor), there is no evidence Heart To Tail has ever recalled pet food products. It is therefore a recall-free pet food company.

As quite a new brand though, this is not surprising.

Aldi’s Pure Being brand, however, issued a voluntary recall for consumers in July 2021. Sunshine Mills Inc was responsible for recalling Pure Being.

This recall was caused by products potentially containing high levels of Aflatoxin. Consuming large amounts of this toxin in high quantities can cause serious health problems in pets. Although no illnesses were reported, the manufacturer did issue a recall as a precaution.

However, we imagine Heart To Tail can continue to keep its recall-free record despite this. To ensure their pets’ safety and health, pet owners need to be alert for any recalls of Heart To Tail or other pet food brands.

This ensures they can stop their pets and other dog owners from being affected.

This is another Hear to Tail dog treat that many dogs love! These treats come in strips and have bacon flavor. What dog doesn’t love bacon?

Although these sweet treats include real smoked pork bacon, it’s not the main ingredient. Wheat flour is the first ingredient. They also contain vegetable glycerin and corn syrup, which are both carb-heavy ingredients.

These yummy treats do not contain artificial colors or preservatives.

The downside to this product is its tendency to upset dogs’ stomachs. You might want to avoid giving these treats to dogs with sensitive stomachs or allergies to any of the ingredients.

Other reviewers noted that the contents of the package were smaller than what was shown on the product packaging.

However, with its taste, we are certain that your dog will enjoy these bacon-flavored treats.

Heart To Tail Beef Stew With Rice And Carrots

The beef stew with rice and carrots comes packaged in a tin and seems to provide complete nutrition for our pet companions.

This wet dog food is free from artificial colors and flavors and beef is the second ingredient on the ingredients list.

This product is free from gluten, soy, and wheat. This makes it suitable for dogs with allergies or sensitive stomachs. It also contains rice, which can be considered a healthy carb.

However, this food doesn’t provide much protein and beef is only the second ingredient. The dog food doesn’t appear to have fillers, but the low amount of protein might not be sufficient for all dogs.

It is recommended though, but we would have liked more protein.

  1. We get the dog food ones in the tins that Aldi’s offer. I have two dogs there favorite is filet mignon flavor. Both my girls love the taste. They both get a tablespoon mix in with there dry food. We have tried the treats as well. Love the price of this food too.

  2. I’ll give it five stars. I switched my dogs’ food to Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe 5 lb bag. I adopted her about six weeks prior, as she is about 9 YO. She also had dandruff. When I took over possession she was feeding on Purina Pro Plan chicken & rice. I selected the Aldi brand Pure Being Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe. The transition was uneventful. Her consumption of volume increased. The stools looked better. I then purchased the Salmon Recipe. I must note that her dandruff has greatly subsided although I can not directly attribute it to the change of diet.

  3. How come everybody ask where is the Heart to Tail dog food and other products manufactured and NOT one site responds where, NOT Aldis or any site…It’s like they purposely avoid to answer the question which leads me to think the answer is CHINA
